19th May 2010 marks the launch of the Power of Cervical Cancer (POCC) Bloggers Engagement Party. Singapore’s Top Female Bloggers came together to learn more about Cervical Cancer. The Event was held at The House @ Dempsey. A venue kindly sponsored by Beauty Emporium.

And what a fun event it was!

At the start of the event, Dr Lisa Wong, Consultant Gynaecological Oncologist, gave everyone a talk about what is Cervical Cancer and how we can protect ourselves against it.

For those of you who missed it, here are a few facts on Cervical Cancer that was shared:

- Cervical Cancer is the 6th most common cancer among women in Singapore. Ironically, it is the MOST easily preventable cancer and is the ONLY preventable women’s cancer
- In Singapore, more than one woman die from Cervical Cancer every 5 days.
- Cervical cancer is cancer originating from the cervix. It occurs when normal cells in the cervix change into cancer cells
